The HSA will host a language competition during week 8 of 092 for any students who are currently studying or have completed study in French, Spanish, Japanese or Chinese at Bond. The purpose of the competition is to allow language students the opportunity to practice speaking and conversing in their chosen language, in front of an adjudicative panel which will include faculty language teachers, as well as native speakers. The competition will be divided into two divisions for each language:
- Intermediate: For students who have completed either level 1 or 2 in either French, Spanish, Japanese or Chinese, and
- Advanced: For those who have studied either level 3 or any subsequent higher levels in any of the four languages.
Prizes will be awarded to the winner of each division in their respective language and will include a range of prizes such as scholarships for further language, book prizes and gift vouchers. The winners of each division will also have the opportunity to represent Bond University in MLTAQ Language Competitions in August.
