HSA: Humanities Students Association

PROMOTIONS DIRECTOR:
DANIELLE LONIE

Degree: Bachelor of Communication / Bachelor of International Relations (Business)

I am originally from Bingil Bay in North Queensland and moved to Bond in 072 on a scholarship. I’m currently in my fifth semester and am looking forward to getting involved in the HSA to continue to develop the HSA’s academic and social endeavours. After I graduate I hope to work in a public relations or marketing role.

Goals for 2009/2010:

My primary role as Promotions Director is to ensure that the HSA events and initiatives are effectively promoted to the University community. One of my most important goals is to publish the new monthly HSA publication – ‘Insight’. This publication strives to provide informative Humanities related articles, which are written by students and some members of staff. In essence, the publication is an ideal platform for HSS students to demonstrate to the broader Bond Community the skills that their degrees have equipped them with. The publication is also a unique way for HSS staff to share insight and advice in their area of expertise with the Bond community.

In addition, I will also have the task of promoting HSA’s academic and social events. I also aim to publish a Humanities’ ‘How to Guide’ by the end of 2009. This Guide will provide HSS students with a one-stop guide that provides useful tips on how students can develop important academic skills, such as referencing and academic essay writing.
